The Dream Project.
For one day at KIPP Austin Obras last year, kids were the bosses and teachers were the employees at a "dream factory."
The 360 elementary school students had a simple task: they had to write down their dreams. The students went wild for this free-wheeling assignment, turning out hundreds and hundreds of dreams. The next day, the students illustrated 40 dreams that seemed representative of the whole. The dreams were goofy and poetic, earnest and wise.
Our students had produced something remarkable. We were given a glimpse into the minds of five to eight year olds.
